Program Planning: Nature Helpers (Bees and Compost)

Friday, December 13, 2013 - 1:15pm to 2:45pm

Bees to Please:
Students will learn about mason bees, bees that don't sting but are important pollinators. Professors and Designers will build and decorate the bee houses. They are made of wood with holes drilled in them. More about mason bees on these videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjud_cDbrFs&feature=em-share_video_user and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Usdq7R2wQMY.

Compost Bags: Professors and Designers will assemble ingredients for compost and worm bins, to be checked out in the next session in January.

Zip Code Seeds: Designers to complete the ZIP Code Seeds Activity, resulting in ordering seeds for our plantings.

Journalists to continue ongoing journaling tasks.
